Paint Correction

Paint Correction Yellow Car.jpeg

Paint correction is a process used to restore the finish of a vehicle's paint by removing scratches, swirl marks, and other imperfections. This is done by using specialized tools and products to gently remove a very thin layer of paint from the surface. After this is done, the surface is polished to restore its shine and smoothness. The end result is a like-new appearance that makes the vehicle look shiny and new again. Think of it like giving your car a makeover to make it look its best!

Paint Correction Process

01

Wash & Decontamination

Before beginning any paint correction work, it's important to thoroughly clean the vehicle to remove any dirt, debris, and contaminants that may have accumulated on the surface. This typically involves a thorough wash, followed by a decontamination process that removes embedded contaminants like tar, tree sap, and industrial fallout.

03

Paint Correction

The actual paint correction process typically involves a series of steps, including compounding, polishing, and refining. These steps use abrasive compounds and polishing agents to remove imperfections from the surface of the paint, leaving a smooth, glossy finish.

05

Final Inspection

Once the finishing steps are complete, the surface is inspected again to ensure that all imperfections have been removed and the finish is smooth and even.

02

Inspection

Once the surface is clean, the next step is to inspect the paint for imperfections like scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation. This allows the detailer to assess the extent of the damage and determine the appropriate correction methods.

04

Finishing

After the correction process is complete, the surface may be finished with a protective coating, such as a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating, to help maintain the restored finish and protect against future damage.

06

Detailing

Finally, the vehicle is given a thorough detailing to ensure that all surfaces are clean and free of debris, and all interior and exterior components are restored to their original condition. This may include cleaning and conditioning leather seats, restoring headlights, and polishing chrome trim.
